Fishing Report April 7th 2025
MJ with a chrome Muskegon River steelhead!
Steelhead fishing has been great the past week. Recent rains have brought our water levels up and a good push of steelhead came with it! There is a mix bag of darker and fresh fish in the system.
With the higher and dirtier water, bigger and brighter eggs in yellow, bright orange and clown have done well. Wolly buggers in black and brown with minimal flash have had some attention as well.
The steelhead calendar is completely full but its never too late to start thinking trout dates in May through June! Swinging wet flies, stripping streamers and waiting for the evening hatch is just around the corner!
Hope everyone has a safe and fishy week!
